Inclined Inclinometer System

Soil Instruments Digital Bluetooth Uniaxial Inclined Inclinometer System has been specially developed for monitoring lateral movements and deformations of soil, rock including retaining structures. Applications include the monitoring of inclined boreholes, down stream faces of concrete faced rockfilled dams, stability of embankments, slopes (natural or man-made); and ground deformation due to tunneling and excavations. The system ustilises the very latest in Bluetooth and MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Sensor) technology, providing highly accurate inclinometer readings.

The system comprise of a probe, fitted with guide wheels, housing a Solid State (MEMS) accelerometer, connected by a graduated cable to the cable reel and hub which transmits readings to the rugged built PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) via a Bluetooth link. These readings are transmitted cable-free to the PDA (via Bluetooth transmission) and saved. In a typical survey, starting from the bottom of the casing the probe tilt readings are taken at 500mm intervals.

The first survey establishes the initial profile of the casing and subsequent surveys will show the profile of any ground movement.
